Terms & Conditions
Effective September 8, 2026
Welcome to College Deconstructed. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of this website and, where applicable, services provided by College Deconstructed.
By using this website or purchasing College Deconstructed services, you agree to these Terms.
About College Deconstructed
College Deconstructed provides individualized college admissions guidance, application support, college list strategy, personal statement guidance, supplemental essay guidance, focused strategy sessions, and related educational consulting services.
College Deconstructed is an independent consulting business. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by any college, university, admissions office, the Common Application, testing organization, scholarship provider, or government financial aid agency.
No Admission or Scholarship Guarantees
College admissions decisions are made solely by colleges and universities.
College Deconstructed does not guarantee:
Admission to any particular institution
Admission to a certain number of colleges
Scholarships or merit awards
Financial aid eligibility or amounts
Athletic recruitment outcomes
Waitlist movement
Application decisions
Any particular admissions result
Our role is to provide research, strategy, feedback, organization, and individualized guidance designed to help students make informed decisions and present their applications effectively.
Student Work and Academic Integrity
College Deconstructed believes that an application should reflect the student.
For essays and written application materials, we may provide feedback on topics, organization, structure, clarity, effectiveness, and revision. The student's ideas, experiences, language, and final submitted work must remain the student's own.
College Deconstructed does not guarantee that a particular essay, application strategy, activity description, or other submission will lead to admission.
Students and families are responsible for ensuring that anything submitted to a college, scholarship organization, or other institution complies with that organization's rules and accurately represents the student.
Client Responsibilities
Students and families are responsible for:
Providing accurate and complete information
Reviewing application materials before submission
Meeting college, scholarship, testing, and financial aid deadlines
Verifying requirements directly with the relevant institution when necessary
Submitting applications and supporting materials
Making final decisions regarding colleges, applications, finances, and enrollment
College Deconstructed may help families track or understand deadlines, but responsibility for timely submission remains with the student and family.
Financial Aid and Scholarship Information
College Deconstructed may provide research, strategy, and general guidance relating to scholarships, college costs, financial aid processes, and financial aid offers.
This guidance is educational in nature and is not legal, tax, investment, or professional financial advice.
Financial aid rules, institutional policies, award availability, deadlines, and eligibility requirements may change. Families should confirm material financial information with the appropriate college, scholarship organization, government agency, financial aid office, or qualified professional.
Service Scope
The specific services included in an engagement depend on the service purchased.
Descriptions, deliverables, pricing, timelines, and other service-specific terms may appear on the College Deconstructed website, booking page, invoice, proposal, checkout page, or separate service agreement.
Those service-specific terms are incorporated into these Terms. If there is a conflict between these general Terms and a written agreement specifically governing a purchased service, the service-specific agreement will control.
Payments, Cancellations, and Refunds
Pricing will be disclosed before a service is purchased.
Any applicable payment schedule, cancellation policy, rescheduling policy, or refund terms will be provided when a service is booked or purchased. By completing a purchase, you agree to the policies presented for that service.
This section gives you room to establish different cancellation or refund rules for a $150 strategy session and a $1,500 comprehensive package without having to rewrite your entire Terms page.
Client Materials
Students and families retain ownership of their essays, application materials, academic records, college lists, and other original materials they provide.
By submitting materials to College Deconstructed for a service, you give us permission to access, review, annotate, and otherwise use those materials as reasonably necessary to provide the requested service.
We will not claim ownership of a student's original application or essay simply because we reviewed it.
College Deconstructed Materials
The College Deconstructed name, website copy, service materials, planning tools, guides, graphics, processes, templates, and other original business content are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Materials provided through a paid service are for the personal use of the student and family receiving them unless we give written permission for broader use.
You may not reproduce, publish, resell, distribute, or commercially exploit College Deconstructed materials without permission.
